annonymous CVS access.
It also contains information for developers - they have read-write access.
Time to time, the same components are packed in a file-release
that can be downloaded from here.
This file-release may not include the latest features nor the
bug fixes, but usually represents the latest reasonably stable stage.

It is helpful if you are just checking what has
changed recently, or when you want to see small number of particular
files.
